7 Refreshing Detox Water Recipes

A 2003 study reported in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism found a 30% rise in metabolic rate after drinking 2 cups of water. Dehydration doesn’t just slug up your metabolism. It can also increase weight gain. Desperate for water, your body will send off hunger-mimicking signals, which can lead to excessive caloric consumption. Every time you crave a snack, I recommend you stop for a moment and ask yourself–‘am I hungry, or thirsty’? You’ll be surprised to find you’re more often thirsty than actually needing food. Proper hydration is also critical for other aspects of your health–even mild dehydration can cause fatigue. Detox waters are a great way to hydrate and flush toxins from your body.
